I recued a plain "rat snake" from a local pet shop that had him in a ten gallon. He was 5' plus and $40, and looked to be a male, which is what I was looking for. I already had a couple of other rat snakes, but a female everglades/yellow rat was what I was looking to have bred. They couldn't tell me anything about him, but he had some stiping, saddles still, and some awesome halloween color checkboarding on his ventrum. Well I found out he's a Key's phase rat when I got the Barron's guide to corn snakes and other rat snakes, he is exactly like the one they show in there on page 57. Now I've looked at various sites, and the others I've seen have been more blaze orange, but mines got the nice brown dorsal coloration with the saddling and striping. Now I know you'll say check the classifieds, but I have been everyday forever, and looking at all the sites on kingsnake's main page, and I can't find any that match that picture like mine, so I need to know if anyone has or knows of where I can get some, breeders or otherwise. I'd like to start breeding pure blood phases of this I'm assuming rare snake, although I've got a clutch of him crossed with my female glades that's about to hatch, they should turn out fairly pretty. Thanks for any help.
