It's aggressive because it hasn't gotten used to you yet, and still thinks you might be a threat (i.e., it thinks you will eat it). It will take at least several weeks of daily handling for it to calm down. How long it takes exactly will depend on the animal itself. Each is an individual with its own personality, even if species and subspecies have tendencies towards docility or hostility.
: I have a baby and its very aggresive. I have heard that baby black rats start off very aggresive but calm down with age. If this is so how long. If not could you tell why its aggressive.?
