Intrested in getting black rats, I want your input.......

Are they good snakes to own...meaning are they docile, controllable, stuff like that...I really like them...I have heard they are big, is that a problem? How big of a aquarium would they need? I am thinking of getting a pair, or just one. If one has pics of thier cages and thier black rats that would be cool.
