Thankyou for posting the pic of hatchling E.o.r. I'm interested to see the saddles appear so prominent.
I have a baby, whose age I'd guess at nine months plus. I obtained this youngster from an aquarium shop, and the seller couldn't tell me who its breeder was, so I'm a bit unsure as to the purity of its background.
Right now, its colouring is a drab yellowish shade (sand?), with greyish-brownish saddles (more brownish in the centres, and outlined in a more greyish shade). It has beautiful unmarked golden orange colour on the cheeks and throat (which is a shade paler), ventral side of its neck, and upper belly, gradually fading to unmarked dark cream about halfway down the belly, lightening slightly through to the tip of the tail. Golden irises around the pupils of its eyes, and a tan-coloured tongue. Is this the right colour for an E.o.r. of about 29" overall length?
Patricia
