dumb question from corn snake keeper

I've been following the threads below and I really need to ask what is the full latin name of "coxi"?

I take it, the name is more than Elaphe coxi as I can't find any reference to it in my snake books. Does this rat snake have a common name as well?

I'd like to know where these rat snakes originate from as well, if it's not too much trouble.

Sorry for these very basic questions. I'm totally out-of-the-loop on this.
