: well....i lost my evergades rat one day.(bout ...2ft)..(last october..or so...i didnt lock up the cage...boom i came home and he had gotten out....we serched..and serched....with no avail....couldnt find him....i kept up hope for about...2 months looking everywere...still didnt find him.....one day 5 or so months later(from the original incadent) i was cleaning the basement and found a shed skin.....i was amazed, but was sure he was dead.....i was just getting ready to go on a trip in june..after my bithday....and saw..something climbing on my black ratsnake cage....(grr..i thought..one of my cornsnakes must have gotten out)...and i grabbed it...*in shock!!!it was my everglades rat snake!!!!!........wow...and he had grown!! quite a bit....so i quaranteend him and watched him for a few days...(apparently, looking at his droopings, i fugured out why my weaver birds and zebra finches werent raising any sucsessfull clutches...he had been somehow sneaking into the aviary....)..hes fine now...but the moral of the story is...dont ever give up till you find the snake.....!!!(the reason i mentioned other snakes, is that your black rat might go towards them?)...good luck..i hope you find him..
