that's a great point, and i have thought a lot about it.

however, unlike Walt, i am not ready to do any temperature manipulation to see what happens. we are just starting to really get the feel for breeding these guys (this is just our second year) and we are still more focused on just getting the eggs, keeping them viable, and getting through the incubation.

this year's batch seems to be doing well, just like last year. we also have two more females that will be of age for this next season in 2002. so i believe that we will try a temp variation then.

i will certainly share any info that we get, because i am certainly interested in getting some more females!

as for our temps and incubation duration, the year 2000 and 2001 were EXACTLY the same. 79-80 degrees F, and hatching at 55 days on the nose.

i haven't compared this to anyone else's info, but it was sure consistent for us, for all of 2 seasons : )
