: What I'm saying Walt is only this. From time to time, I sell snakes at a low price for one reason or the other. When I or any other responcible breeder does this I feel it should be done away from the main-stream (the one I wash my cloths in with two rocks). Most of the breeders that bought coxi bought a lone male along with their pair. And they paid $1500 dollars for the lone male. Or maybe they paid $750 for the male and $3750 for the pair if lone males are sold as pets. That however doesn't hold a lot of water with me, selling lone males as pets for half price.
: In any event, I know many of use have large amounts of money invested in our collections. We should be allowed to get some of that back. When you break down the love of snakes they should all be free for everybody. But, until that day we're forced to pay sometimes a large amount to get a snake that we REALLY want to work with.
: Walt, I didn't mean to talk about the coxi as I know you're working with them (I of course didn't even think of that). I wouldn't have made that point if I hadn't heard a hundred time from people "have you seen the price of coxi has dropped". I honestly think it's an outrage that price was ever posted, I would have never done that in a public place like kingsnake. But I'm faily sure that will have it's effect on the price to come. I can only assure you all you'll never see me slashing prices on anything, lone male or not!

Hi Adam,
I agree with much of what you have to say, and it isn't necessarily that I keep coxi that led to my defense of their price stability in my previous post. I just think that their relative scarcity is almst guaranteed for some time to come for the reasons that I already outlined. I have also had numerous inquiries as to their availability. I think that we need to separate the "fire sale" mentality and absurd overnight price drops of SOME Kingsnake.com advertisers from the more disciplined, serious, here-to-stay breeders. The old adage of "you get what you pay for" may still be a better way of shopping. Will the phone number of the person you just bought snakes from, still be working next week? What health pledge were you offered, if any?
Adam and I are good friends, for those that don't know. This forum stuff is all childs play compared to the email exchanges I regularly have with the likes of Adam, Rex, Sacha, Phil Blais, etc.
Walt
