: ***a) How do I determine if the snakes available are pure flav flav or the other species?***

: The main two you would run into would either be flav flavs and the pardalina. You're going to have a tough time telling them apart. There is no fool proof way to tell them apart. Even the middorsal scale counts can be too close to call. The main thing I would do is find out where the stock came from. If they came from jim Kane they're flav flavs and if they're Lemke stock they're likely pardalina.

: ***b) How come the price on thee snakes has dropped so much when they are not all that common?***

: I guess this wouldn't be the place to name names. Basicly when you have a breeder who doesn't put much value if any at all on their time and effort, it makes for a tough situation. Such is the case with the flavs. Nobody that I'd ever spoken to had any troubles selling theirs for the $200 price tag. Then you get one of those yahoo price slashers who looks at the snakes like "well, they didn't cost me anything". To top it off they just want to "move them". So they do a thing as silly (that's not the word I would have liked to use) as post them on the internet for a stupid low price. Well, it's all done after that, everybody things that's all they're worth and in less then one year the price fall to half of what it was.
:

: ***c) How many eggs do they usualy produce?***

: 5-13 should be about normal.

: If you have a chance to work with this snake, take it. They're great snakes and well worth the new price. I'm hoping the good that will come from that is you'll start to see them more often. Also, please don't think I'm in this for the money, I don't totaly mind the price drop. It's just that I think some snakes are a steal at the price they sell for and the flav is one of them. The situla are another, maybe the cheapest priced snake in the hobby if you look at all things involved.

: Good luck,
: Adam Block
