: Laura,

: I'm going to take a pot-shot here, but incubation does play a role with certain problems sometimes. I have seen full-term deaths occur when not enough air exchange was given to the eggs in the incubator, and also when the temps were too high. 80 deg is fine for corns. I have had healthy hatchlings at room temp as well (room temp = 74-80 range in the room they were in). I let plenty of air into the egg boxes, but have experienced a few full-term deaths, which isn't many in comparison to the successful hatches.

: I have seen kinked babies from what the breeder thought was seriously-inbred parents, but I don't know if that was the actual cause or not. I personally have not had snakes throw kinked babies in my collection.

: Like I said, these are thoughts to ponder, without seeing your setup or animals.
