At about nine months to a year they change a lot. There should be a post by Marcia a few down from here with a picture of her bairdi at nine months. I think, although I never like to assume, she got that one from me. I would guess it's the male based on the color. Mine seem to start changing fairly earlym, and the males color looks different from the females.
