Like Patrick said, Yellow Rats CAN be a bit nippy.They're not as easy to handle as a Cal King (they rarely wrap themselves around your arm)Most will tame nicely,but you've got to make sure you keep your hands away from their face (unless you LIKE getting nailed).I still think they're good beginner snakes because they're very hardy,relatively active and you can get away with making an occasional mistake without great harm to the animal
