Hi Adam,
I've returned home from Orlando with a few small colubrids in my carry-on luggage. Shipping was not an option because of a heat embargo. I bagged each snake and put them among other items, because I thought it would break up the serpentine form!
A vet friend of mine says that fine snake bones aren't clear on the X-ray. He regularly flies to and from shows with "high end" animals on his person. Anyone with the airlines will probably tell you that it's not allowed.
