Well, I want to thank everyone for that great forum discussion, from my viewpoint and I hope everyone elses, on the cutting egg question. It covered the range from the ethics and morales all the way to the description of actually making slits in the eggs. As I had posted earlier, I decided to slit the last egg that hadn't pipped. I looked at how all the other eggs had been pipped and took into account the descriptions on how to make a slit without actually entering the egg. I slit it. I looked in and notice the neonate was upside down. I left it alone and last night about 6pm, I noticed a snout was sticking out. I continued to leave the egg alone and this morning there was a beautiful white bullsnake crawling around in the nest box. Thank you so much for all the info that so many people took the time to contribute.
