: Congratulations Terry!Good things come to those who wait, keep us posted with some pics & progress, where did the S.Korean parents originate from[w.c. or c.b stock]?,are they related to any in the U.S.?Any other herpers working with this pariculiar ssp?Dave
Thanks, Dave. I'll keep ya's posted.
The S. Korean's came from Seoul, S. K., and were w/c by Lloyd Lemke, I believe in 1996. I took over the project from him. They aren't related to any others anywhere that I know about.
A couple breeders list South Koreans as part of their stock, but I think they are a darker, more northerly phase, or in one case, could be a cross with a Chinese dione. I believe the ones I have will be classified as a separate subspecies, or maybe even a full species someday. Check the link below to see the post I made on the Taxonomy Forum this morning. I plan on studying this snake in detail, and pushing for a separate status from dione.
I'll let ya know when I get any more info, or some pics back. Later. TMC.
