My South Korean Dion's Rat female just shed for the 1st time since she laid a dozen eggs a few weeks ago, and I measured the "slough" at 55 inches. Allowing for the flexability of shed skins (not the most accurate way to measure length), I'd say she is probably a good 45 inches in real length. This is near the record length given by Schulz ('96) at 47+ in. (120 cm).
As a follow up to the clutch report, ten eggs are still good, and have been incubating for about 25 days, so far. Should have babies in less than two weeks. We'll see :-)
