What a nice looking snake. I can see the stripes you mentioned. Took a minute, then they "popped" out at me. I've never seen a regular texas rat in person, they have a pair of trans pecos at my local shop and I think they are quite attractive, they have double stripes. Here's a pic of my Leucistic rat, Jaws. Excuse the poop, gotta learn to pick it up BEFORE snapping pics!
