Today while driving in north N.J., I spotted nice solid black rat snake crossing a winding country road and had to swerve to avoid running him over at about 45mph. I pulled over as soon and as safley as possible, jummped out of my vehicle and ran to collect my prize then watched in horror as he was run over. The snake was flailing around in pain with guts hanging out so i had to put him down "smashed it's head with a large rock'.What a bummer, he was about 5 feet and black as they come.
