Spilotes are usually very agressive but tame down over time. More bluffing and rattling than anything else but they will bite and chew for a bit when they do!
Arboreal cages are preferred though not mandatory - a large hide box is a must. One of the most agressive feeders you'll ever see - take good care if feeding more than one in the same enclosure - begging for a fight and you don't want to try and extricate two agitated Spilotes from the same mouse. They are "motion" feeders - some of mine will crawl right over a dead mouse - tong feeding works best. They rival Taiwan Beauties in their appetites - adults can easily wolf 5-6 adult mouse per feeding. Mist 2-3 times per week - they'll drink this way (also from water bowls) but they love the added humidities. Temps of 88F max w/a night time drop to as low as 78F is good. Cycle them as you would a Columbian Boa for breeding. Also, they routinely get over 8' so be aware of what you're getting yourself into. Bill
