: Can't expain why the head shape looks off to you. It looks like a typical obsoleta head to me. I guess it could be the camera angle, or maybe when the pic was shrunk to "standard size," my photo editor does that to pics sometimes.

Man, I don't know. It definitely looks obsoleta-like, but it's just off. kinda of hard to explain. Imagine seeing a black rat head on a "more fragile appearing" yellow rat snake. It would just look off, wouldn't it. That's what I mean, just not so glaring as that. It might just be the stretching of the photo in some way by the computer (yours or mine).

You have the snake -- that's whay I was asking. No ideas? Normal TX Rat shaped head?

: : Man, these guys makea great Leucistic, but that is about all, huh?

: Thanks for your opinions, KJ. But I have to disagree, I think it is a beautiful snake. It is a whitish snake with pastel shades of blue, red, orange, and yellow. The head is bluish grey and the eyes are dark. I probably should have waited and posted a better pic.

If you disagree with me, you must be wrong....lol. Seriously, if it does look that way, then the picture didn't come across (to my monitor at least) that way. What you describe is pretty, but most of those aren't in that picture. I've only seen 2 hypo TX Rats in person (and a smattering of hypo Black Rats) and none ever made ME reach for my pocketbook. (Don't trust me though because I find lavender corns and albino Hondurans the pinnacle of a waste of good money, too.)

: Based on the picture, what should this snake be labelled as, a hypo or a form of albino? Thanks again for all opinions, positive or negative.

Seems like the first guy who sells them gets to name them no matter what the snake really is! My first question would be "What is the eye color?" If it is black, then it "can not" be an albino. I can't say it IS a hypo, but of your listed choices, it fits the data better.

If the eyes aren't black, then we'll have to go more in-depth.

KJ
