Hi
Don`t be so sure. I have had eggs looking very ugly an with no bloodvessels for weeks and they still hatched. Normally it is possible to see that ratsnake eggs fertility from the start, but situla eggs sometimes have a "hibernation" period without development for some time. I had an egg beginning to develop after 5 weeks and it gave a perfect animal.
Best wishes
Søe
