By the way, like other Elaphe, they tend to take about three years to go through their developmental stages, depending on how they are raised, whether hibernated, etc. They should look a lot like juveniles, as yearlings, but start to turn towards the adult patterns. I'd say as two year olds, they should be well on their way to looking like adults. As three yr. old subadults, they should definately have the adult pattern.
My Russian ratsnakes (Elaphe s. schrencki), follow this pattern, and they are a much more northerly species, and can take as much as four or five years to reach full adulthood (I use long hibernations). E. bairdi comes from a very warm climate, comparatively, so they should be even more quick in their development.
