I have heard that eggs for gonyosomas can go over 70 days, but I cant confirm this at the moment.
He may want to lower the temp a hair (by a degree or two) and increase the humidity, that can sometimes soften the eggs a little.

If he is really worried and they go much longer he can get some cuticle scissors and make a small incision on one of the egg shells (not the membrane) by doing that it can be determined if the baby in that eggs is alive or not.
