Hi Matt,
No problem, askk all you want. yes there are
a lot more animals being trucked in from surrounding
countries because all the native animals have been
caught and eaten already. This has already happened
to the turtles, which are imported from Indonesia,
Bangladesh, India etc etc. This is atrting to happen
to snakes as the local stocks dwindle. Albeit there
are still large numbers of E. moelendorffi, but E. mandarina
stocks are beginning to show signs of decline. They
do have breeding programs in place for some of the more
expensive and popular species, such as Naja n. kaouthuia
and Opiophagus hannah. They breed these animals in
large farms and supply them to the markets. However,
it is only possible with these species because they
carry a higher price tag by weight than most, plsu they
are easy to keep and breed and grow fast.
