: : My baby cornsake got loose in my house. I have searched vigorously. How do I find it?

: Try putting a prey item such as a mouse in a tall bucket. Make sure its possible for the snake to get in the bucket.(they are excellent climbers) If it's tall enough, it won't be able to get out of the bucket once it has eaten. Good luck.

My baby corn snake escaped Christmas Eve--the night before my son was supposed to receive it for his Christmas gift! They are sneaky little guys. It came out of hiding THREE AND A HALF MONTHS LATER (Easter in fact). It was hiding behind the deep freeze we think where it was warm and was getting water from the drain in the laundry room. It was hungry and a wee bit dehydrated, but none the worse for wear and is now once again caged and we are finally able to sell our house--without disclosing that there is a loose snake.

We tried baiting, we tried leaving water out and we tried looking all to no avail. People told us that when the snake was good and hungry he'd come out and sure enough, when I was up in the middle of the night one night checking my email, there he was laying in the middle of the floor. So try baiting, but don't give up hope--the little guys can last a long time!
