This set-up has worked well for me over the past few years. I have a 2-3 inch deep aspen mulch substrate, aspen holds the shape of their tunnels & burrows. I also give a covered bowl with a hole cut in the top filled with damp moss. In the photo, you can see the round mass of moss that I pulled out of the bowl to take the photo of the snake. Mine seem to use their moss hides daily. I use the deli cups to offer food. I'll put live linkies or fuzzies (depending on the size of the snake) in the cups at night. They seem to be too timid to take pre-killed from forceps.
