I'm currently keeping Taiwanese Beauties (Elaphe.t. fresei) and have seen some Blue beauties at a nearby reptile dealer. He has these listed as taeniura fresei (i.e Taiwanese beauties).
However, these snakes have pink tongues not the blue and black striped tongues of my snakes. I guess my question is are these snakes really taeniura fresei or a different subspecies. I thought blue beauties were Vietnamese? Has the dealer got them down under the wrong latin? I'm interested if they are blue taiwans but don't want to breed them with mine if they are not - creating mutts.
Another query - does anyone know of a Uk dealer breeding elaphe moellendorffi?
Cheers Steve
