In Reply to: Collecting eggs from my spilotes, can anyone help with temps posted by Dan Mulleary on April 12, 2001 at 19:46:52:
:Dan, I believe your temperatures are correct. I have some info from Gladys Porter Zoo, which recommends keeping temps. below 84F. They had tail kinking at this temp. I have 3.3 Spilotes, how did you stimulate breeding?? Regards Mark.
: I am waiting for the last two eggs to be deposited and I am setting up the incubator now. I am guessing that the temps would be similar to my taiwan beauties or honduran milks at around 81-82 degrees. If anyone can help I would be very appreciative. Looks like the final count will be five good eggs and two duds for now. Don't want to sound like everyone else on this forum but the male is very high yellow and the female is just a nice average looking spilotes. These were captive bred by Rich Ihle and are unrelated. Thanks for your time.
