The largest north american species would definetly be the Black Rat Snake (obsoleta). They attaina length of a little over 100'' on occasion, and I have seen several that were pushing 7'. I'm not to sure about Queen snakes so you may need to ask someone else, but there is another very large species that does not live in the U.S., it is the Four Lined Rat Snake (elaphe quatuorlineata) they range from Italy to Yugoslavia and Greece and they attain a length of about 100'' which is a little smaller than obsoleta. Well hope that helped, anymore Rat Snake questions then feel free to e-mail me.

I asked a similar question in the pituophis forum.
: What species of elaphe generally grows the largest? I've seen some pictures on here of taiwan beauty snakes where the person said they were over 7 feet long. Is that typical of asiatic elaphe?
: What about N. American elaphe?
