Hi Steve,

Regarding the anomala, which I like to call the Korean ratsnake, it is not too much like the Amurs in disposition. First the Amur rat is totally diurnal, and is very curious. The Korean rat is crepuscular or nocturnal, depending on weather, and is very shy and reclusive. The Koreans don't make very good pets compared to the Amurs (Russians), in my opinion. This is the main reason I kept the Russians and not the Koreans.

They are different in color too. The Russians are basically black, and the Koreans I had were brownish, grayish, and with a little black and yellow. Some say they are greenish too. My Koreans didn't have as distinct of a pattern as the Russians did either.

My Koreans were slightly bigger, but then my Russians only got to about five feet, or less. I think you would have enough room in your vivs. And no, I don't have any pictures of the Koreans, as I parted with them before I got into the photography.

Glad you liked the Russian Amur. These guys just keep getting better each year. My 2.5 yr. olds are developing some good yellow in the banding, and the newest crop from last summer should be even better. My female laid 18 eggs last summer. I won't be breeding her this year though. Later.

TC
