: Anyone having info of any kind on the Mandarin Ratsnake, please send it to me ASAP
: Thanks
Mandarins are fairly small expensive rat snakes from China or Viet Nam. Do NOT bother with a wild-caught. They are cheaper, are almost always sick, full of parasites and usually die weeks or months after you take delivery, without ever eating anything. Do not ask how I know this. A captive-born Mandarin is pretty much like a small corn snake in its needs, except they are secretive and nocturnal. My 2 yr old CB is now 26" long, still eats fuzzies (sometimes 2 per week), is handleable although nervous, never ever bites and spends 100% of daylight hours under his hide. They are not branch climbers. There are several breeders around- mine came from Bill Gillingham at Great Valley Serpentarium in Lodi, CA
