*** looking. I worked hard finding the ones I thought I'd be most happy with. Not only do I like the looks of the pair I got, but I liked the breeder too. He was Bill Gillingham, the person who first produced mandarins, I believe, in the U.S. He was super helpful in making arrangements with me.
I would like to get a pair of North Vietnamese mandarins some day too.
I like your pair, Mike. They've got good color and nice wide bands. I know you're pretty happy with these guys. They're one of my favorite exotics too. Not the greatest personalities for playing with, but they're just a marvel to hold and look at, eh? I think they have a fascinating natural history also.
Thanks for the nice comments on the other Asians, also.
Hope you successfully get eggs this year with the mandarins. Mine are just starting out. I put them down pretty late. They cooled for about two months. Luck :-)

: Terry,
: I just checked out your photopoint albums...very nice! Those Chinese Beauties are very nicely colored. Your Dione's and Mandarins are also beautiful. Who produced the Mandarins? Their colors are exceptional, I love the amount of yellow on those.
: Here's a pic of one of my mandarins, they've been out of hibernation about 3 or 4 weeks and have been feeding great. I just recently introduced them, but haven't seen any mating yet.
