Mike, mine also bred last summer w/o hibernation, almost by accident in that I really wasn't planning it. My female was only a little over 6' at the time. I bought them as subadults and they were small and thin for taiwans of that age(or perhaps they were more the size that a wild speciman would be at that age! I think most of us feed are animals alot more than they would ever eat in the wild.) Either way I was going to wait till this year. Well I was cleaning cages and let the male wander a bit, you know, get a little exercise. When he got near her cage it obviously caught his attention. My curiosity got the best of me and I opened the lid and they were at it almost immediately. Suffice to say that these are easy animals to breed. I am by no means an expert but I'd wait untill they were at a minimum of 6.6'-7'. My female was a little smaller than this but realize she was about 4 years old. If you feed these alot they may well be 7' at two years of age and breedable. Personally I'd still wait to 3, you'll probably produce larger babies. Enjoy them, they're awesome snakes. Don
