: you didn't clear anything up....
I did not profess to have a definitive answer as to the authenticity of leucism in E. o. obsoleta, and stated as much throughout my post.
All I wanted to share was what I knew about the BACKGROUND of this particular mutation, in case it could help others that had little or different ideas as to its origin.
: you are not sure either...
Never said I WAS. The spirit of these forums is the dissemination of knowledge amongst all who choose to patronize it. Sometimes that information can be monumental OR trivial -- all that matters is that what is offered MAY be of some help to the individual in reaching their own conclusion on the subject matter.
Not that it makes the information I posted any less valid, but my apologies that the information I chose to share was of little use to you.
: I never got any....why bother to...
The real question is -- not having any interest in "rusty" or "leucistic" Black Rats -- "why bother to...." respond at all, expressing little but your own lack of knowledge and apathy regarding the issue.
People come to these Forums seeking information and help from a wide range of individuals with an inestimable amount of knowledge and experience at their disposal. Your response to my post offered little in that regard -- whether factually or in spirit.
I'm sure everyone who reads your response to my post will find your words fascinating and stimulating, and just hungering for some more gems from your vast & exciting storehouse of knowledge of the Elaphe obsoleta complex and its associated mutations.
Regards
Bob Fengya
