I have put her into a "reptile ranch" container that actually has almost exactly those dimensions as the small container. I put about 1.5 - 2 inches of aspen in there (she was on carpet) with a flattened empty toilet paper roll for a hide, her water bowl, and the two thermometers. Then I put the entire system in her tank with half of the container on top of her heat pad. Right now it is registering 82 hot side directly on top of the aspen, the hide tube is on top of the aspen layer and she is in the hide tube already. The cool side is registering 70 directly on top of the aspen. Sound okay? The screen top is locked in place on the 10 gallon, so if she SHOULD happen to get out, then she can't go anywhere. But the smaller container is also snapped shut. Should I wait until Monday to offer food? Do I offer her the pinkie in this container and what about the possibility of ingesting aspen?
Thanks again for the help. I am hoping it works.
