There are a few breeders in the US that I know of. Sachel ... what's his last name???? Also Terry Cox in Michigan is helpful and experienced. I'm coolong down a pair this winter and hope to be able to share success stories this spring/summer. Russians are one of the easiest ratsnakes to care for, in part because they prefer cooler temps than US rats, also because thay are more "considered" snakes - thay are curious in a way that most snakes are not, they sniff around their enclosure carefully as if they are looking for something in particular. You can entertain them for days by putting a new pine branch in their enclosure. They crawl all over it caregully exploring every nook. I assume color variations will start to become available before long - then they'll have their day in the sun. If you have specific questions, post them - us fans of this species will be happy to answer.
