Oops, a little late answering...haven't had time to read the forum. My male is about 8' & growing, my female is closer to 9' & growing. I'm sorry but I have no idea how old they are or what lines they came from--these were a 'get-these-nasty-agressive-tradeins-out-of-our-store' bargain purchase.

Our male does have a lovely aqua tint to his lighter blues over a really dark navy, but the female is more of a true-blue. Unfortunately (at least to me, my husband loves this) she also has pink/mauve underpatterning in her skin. Interesting, but I've always hated the color pink.

We've been trying to raise last summer's hatchlings up to a big enough size to see which parent they take after, but so far they still seem to change color every shed, but so do the adults so who knows?

My female eats very aggressively until right before laying, then stops until the eggs hatch (even though the eggs aren't with her). The male won't eat the entire months she's willing to mate. Then as soon as she's sufficiently gravid to not mate (which is about 4 days before laying), he goes into a feeding craze that lasts until next season.

Fascinating creatures--and thankfully no longer aggressive now that they aren't in the store.
