Ethically, at this point, it's probably not a good idea to cross subspecies of taeniura. There's already considerable confusion telling apart the various subspecies. Although a few, like the Taiwan's and Chinese are pretty well established, many are not. Then again there are some natural intergrades, like yunnanensis x mocquardi. But judgement has it not to make things more confusing than they already are. The serious breeders, at least, are more likely to try to keep them separate. Plus, I think a mixed animal will be less likely to sell. I wouldn't want to work with snakes which couldn't be readily i.d.'d...

: I was wondering about housing 2 beauty snakes together? as a species is that an unwise thing to do, wise thing to do, or do you have to look at the individuals for the most part. also i'm sure you could since they are both elaphe taeniura, but can you breed different beauty snakes together and has anyone actually done it?
