A few weeks ago,i temperarily put seven obsoletas and two corns (all 2000 snakes, between 18-21 inches long) into a 55 gallon tank together while work out space and new enclosers for each snake. The 55 has a few hide boxes lots of branches, driftwood, plastic plants, paper towel and plenty of water.
I've been feeding them seperatly and cleaning the cage while they eat,and all are eating well.I have to say,its been conveniant and pleasent to look at.They spend most of the day in the same hide box (although theres three in the tank)and at night, most are out and about, mostly climbing. They do not seem stressed out from each other, and when they cross paths, basicly ignore each other.
My question is,how long can i keep them like this? I've been thinking on stopping what i started building and wait until their a bit bigger and would need a bigger cage for me to build.
Would this be acceptable for a few months? I could put them individualy in plastic shoe boxes, but this is so much nicer, apealing, and the snakes seem happy with the space to climb and streach, and swim.
I would like to hear different opinions and about anyones experiance doing something like this.
