the Rhynchophis are great snakes!! i am real excited about them, and the babies have been cool as well. the babies start out grey, and then go green, but it is a pretty slow process. about half of them started on pinks, and the other half were stubborn and started on lizards. we went ahead and cooled the stubborn ones, in order to stimulate their feeding response a bit, but in the meantime, the other babies have doubled in size.......:)
as for temps, we have been keeping them very successfully in our colubrid room. mid 70's to mid 80's for the adults, along with a 90 degree basking spot that is not used much.
any of the Rhinos that are on rodents have been completely worry free, very hardy. i still recommend them very highly for those looking to get into a rare project, with a beautiful snake.
