Actually that pic was of a very odd looking WC black rat that was found locally. As you can see in the pic, it was basically black (dark grey) and white with lots of whitish between the scales. Very different from the brownish, blackish, yellowish, greenish ones that are usually found here in KY.
I probably jumped the gun by calling her 'axanthic' since it was never proven genetic. She died in brumation last year before I could breed her, which sucked really bad.
Southern Reptile used to have axanthic black rats on their website, but I havent been there in a while.
