Hmm, I don't think it's a cross. Chris at Gulf Coast told me it originated from a WC female. Additionally, I produced some WS glades this year, along with a clutch of hets from a WS glades X normal glades. The hets hatched out looking 'pure' glades rather than intergradient, so I would say that there was no black rat blood in them. Hardly a scientific method of determination, but until Wal Mart offers DNA testing this is good enough for me, LOL.
Has anyone out there bred the whitesided black rat to the glades rat version to see if the trait was allelic? I would think that it would be....
