between a emory and black rat ? I had all but forgot several of these snakes brought in to me for identification when we had our petstore in Grandveiw Mo. until I was just recently doing a reptile presentation at a petstore in Harrisonville Mo. A person brang one of these snakes in to show. The finding of these snakes was between Grandview and Harrisonville. Several of the ones that the people showed me back in my petstore days were of this same locality. There is the true heavy black coloring of pure black rats in this area. But no one had ever come up with a great plains from here. These snakes are of black and brown coloring and are all adults. They almost look like fox snakes but the head is all black and the occurence of fox snakes are out of the question being this far south of their range. What do you think ?
