: : My understanding of the situation (and maybe they've changed things since last I kept track) was that it was illegal to sell black or grey rats of any variety. #shrug# Most of these would've been before that law went into effect, but, either way, I don't plan on reporting anybody, 'cause I don't intend to help enforce laws I disagree with...

: Last thing I heard was that they are now allowing albino or leucistic forms of black or grey rats to be sold/bought, etc. I was just kidding about calling the DNR, after their infamous 'bust' at the Indy show a few years ago I am sure they have the situation completely under control. 8^)

Okay, I guess the morph allowance is more recent a development than I'd been keeping track of. I kinda wondered if you serious about calling the DNR... and that deal at the Indy show was just stupid. Why did they need to try to get people to break the law when they obviously aren't interested in actually enforcing the law anyways? (I'm just as glad they aren't interested in enforcing the law, mind you)
And it's not like there's any significant trade in snakes native to Indiana anyways... were they serious about protecting native species, prohibiting sale isn't exactly where they'd start. Bah. Stupid politics.
