I just looked at the links you posted Joe, and have to say I was impressed (albeit very jealous) of the Iowa species list. It is just amazing to me that Iowa, a state in such close proximity to us here in Wisconsin, could have such diversity in herptofauna.
I joke with friends in other states, and often "Brag" of our what....22 species of snakes. I just find it amazing that Iowa is loaded with 4 species of lampropeltis, and more than 2 species of Vipera.
Another thing is that if Iowa affords NO protection for the Timber and Prairie Rattler, who is monitoring the populations? and is this about to be changed?
At any rate, Let me know if you have anyone of mind that has Madison County Red Milks available. They are some of the best looking Reds out there.
