there are some ratsnakes, such as Texas rats, that are supposed to be quite an experience to handle: you can find ones that are easy to handle, but they are the exception. Corns, on the other hand are the other way around: you can find some that are quite snappy and aggressive, but they are the exception. There are some other rats that have a very good handling reputation, such as transpecos, also. They are supposed to be very calm and sweet. So it depends on which ratsnakes you are talking about.
