personally, I have to go with Russian rats for friendliest, hands down :) I've raved about mine before...but here we go again anyway. Our first male started out agressive, because he'd been mishandled. Within a week he was completely friendly. My pair has always been utterly mellow. I 'wear' the female around the house almost every day. The male has done several school programs with utter aplomb. If they were to ever hiss at me, let alone strike, I'd fall down from shock. For all that, they are pretty aggressive feeders. The pair was ripping mice out of my hand last night. (took 4 each)

I would definitely NOT say all rat snakes have the same personality. Radiateds are not agressive, but they're lightening fast and very nervous. The beauties seem to be a little nippier (but when your that attractive, you get away with murder). The gulf hammocks are like tame house cats...now anyway, they weren't when we first got them.
