you have a lot of resident snakes down there that are fun. We have a pair of gulf hammock rat snakes my husband purchased because of nostalgia (he's from Miami...I dragged him to the frigid north). We had difficulty with them initially when it came to getting them going on pinkies instead of lizards. But after a lot of refused meals & every trick in the book, I discovered that if I misted their tank so heavily with a spray bottle it 'rained' and 'fogged' they would go into a feeding frenzy. If I bopped them on the nose with a well-washed, thawed pinkie they take as many as I have.
Ours are very docile, mellow snakes. They like to both tunnel and climb. I'd recommend them if you don't find anything else you like better.
(bonus: they aren't very expensive)
By the way, I also have blue beauties, they'd be happy with those temps & a basking area but they aren't the most handlable snake I've ever run across. The male is okay, but the female is standoffish, and the little ones downright nasty. If you just want a display snake, they're fantastic though.
