I have a great love for all North American Elaphe however my favorite is the Texas Bairds, Elaphe bairdi. I love the way they start out as rather plain looking babies then grow into colorful adults. Our adult bairds have lots of personality and won't hesitate to rattle their tail but I have yet to be bitten by an adult. They are just cool snakes!
