Subocs have fairly large eggs. I read somewhere, sometime ago that you should let female Subocs reach a length of 40 inches before breeding them. I have followed that guideline and had very good success with it. They are big animals anyway, and letting them obtain that size greatly reduces the chances of having complications of pregnancy. It seems like the female recovers more rapidly and the babies are bigger and healthier. They can breed at a smaller size and probably do in the wild, but our animals aren't in the wild. I just think it is better for the animal to let it obtain that 40" before breeding them.
As far as the male is concerned, you can use them whenever they are mature enough, probably the second year, maybe the first. I haven't had to worry about that.
Hope this helps.
